I just wanted to show you my new shawl! I had warm summer nights in mind making it, but our Swedish summer has so far been rainy and cool, so I will have to bring it to Crete when I go there in the beginning of Oktober. And I can use it as a scarf wintertime.
This is a paid pattern and you can find it here. The pattern is easy, after a couple of rows it is a perfect project when watching TV.
I used Baby Alpaca Silk yarn from Drops, a soft, silky yarn with 70 % alpaca wool and 30 % silk. The colours are yellow 2110 and pink 3280.This yarn is 167 m by 50 grams, 5 ply and I used a crochet hook size 7 to get a really lacy shawl.
I had ha hard time deciding whether to keep the last round on the lace edging but decided it is a fun idea.
The beads in edging row 2 were quite a hazzle and they are nearly invisible. I went with seed beads 6/0 as the pattern calls for but if I was to do it again I would buy bigger beeds, maybe even gem chips.
I really recommend this pattern and it is perfect for a crochet beginner who is up for a small challenge!
